Outside Gas

While Engine 1-2 and Tower 1 were handling a fire alarm, Engine 1-1 was sent to the 1400 block of Nitterhouse Dr for a report of an outside gas odor. Engine 1-1 arrived in the area and began investigating. Crews located a regulator station that was periodically purging gas. Crews established a perimeter and requested the Borough Gas Dept to the scene. Engine 1-2 and Ambulance 1-8 cleared from the previous call and responded as well. Borough Gas representatives arrived and located a malfunctioning regulator. Gas supply was removed until repairs to the regulator could be made. Crews operated for a little over an hour before being placed in service by Command 1 (Chief Ulrich).
